First of all I would like to thank Meridian for supporting me throughout the admission process. I am very happy now as I got admission in MS CS, USA. Which is the most aggressive and competitive branch of the era.

I never thought I would be able to complete GRE & TOEFL exam very smoothly as I studied in Hindi medium school. Guidance of Ashwini Sir made it easy for me. At first I wanted to prepare for GATE so that I could get admission in any good college here in India. But chances of getting into IIT’s are less as there are very few seats so I started preparation of GRE after completion of my undergrad. After giving GRE I started searching for colleges. I was able to search for colleges globally because GRE enabled me to apply worldwide. On the basis of rank, post MS opportunities, value for Work, Job environment made me to choose US. I would say GRE is an exam which will give you opportunity to fulfill your dreams.

GRE is a nice option for those who wants a global prospective as CAT or GATE will limit you with limited good colleges in India only. No one can beat the quality of education that US universities provide. Fees of universities ranges from 15 Lacks to 30 Lacks. That you can take loan and after MS you can return it because everyone gets good package after MS around 30 Lacks-55 Lacks. So work hard for GRE and US education.

USA offers variety of choices and flexibility in pursuing degree in desired field of study. The quality of education provided in most of the universities is comparable to some of best universities in world. Unlike Indian universities, where cost of education may be cheaper, the cost to attend US universities is definitely high: but the long term return of investments is much higher than degree obtained elsewhere. The cost factor makes it more important for international student to choose career path in which they are genuinely interested. Due to various immigration requirements getting in job and internship market is little difficult but not at all impossible for deserving candidates.

Professionalism, excellent work ethic and exposure to latest cutting edge technology are advantageous factor for those in IT, Bio-medical and research fields. Overall getting a master’s degree from reputed US University is a wise decision any student can take to advance in his career.

I am Nitish Shah from Rungta College of Engineering and Technology, Raipur. It is a matter of great privilege for me to share that I have received an opportunity to pursue Master of Science in Management Information Systems from Oklahoma State University, United States of America.[expander_maker id="1" more="Read more"][/expander_maker] I would like to take this opportunity to extend my hearty greetings towards Ashwini sir for making me learn under his kind guidance. I am very thankful to him and his entire team for always guiding and motivating us throughout this long process towards studies in USA. My Journey I am splitting my journey to question-answer format so that I can appear more articulate during your kind perusal. Abroad studies, why? Quality of education and return on investment (ROI) were the two prime reasons for me to select abroad studies. Course curriculum offered by Oklahoma state university (OSU) is very comprehensive and industry oriented which makes it 21st rank in North America. Historically, it is observed that graduate students from OSU are getting placed in IT Giants like Microsoft, Amazon, Apple that enables graduates to fetch salaries as high as 110 thousand dollars (65lakhs) per annum. why not India? Though some of the Indian institutes offer good blend of quality education and ROI but global exposure while studying abroad will surely provide us edge for securing good position in a MNC. Why not job right after Engineering? I was blessed with two campus placements in the recruitment drive but I am delaying to work for a while as I want to finish my studies at stretch. I believe, Gaining little amount of work experience won’t be much accretion to my profile therefore it’s more suitable for me to have international exposure and then switch it over to jobs. How much money we need to spend for MS? It varies with the institution, it may be 12 lakhs, it may be 30 lakhs, or it may be even free if we receive scholarship. Education loan can also be taken to support our education. How to manage living over there? Part time jobs, students are paid on hourly basis. We are allowed to work 20 hours a week. At OSU, graduate students are paid $7.25 per hour for their part time. From my experience I would like to share some important points regarding entire process: GRE: Graduate Record Examination 1: Try to be an avid reader, READ ALOT! 2: It is more of IQ test, focus on basics. TOEFL: Test of English as Foreign Language 1: Try speaking infront of mirror, will assist during speaking section. 2: It is comparatively an easy examination. Application procedure: 1: Take your time; prepare best possible statement of purpose (SOP).Put your all efforts in building your profile more competitive before application process. Good internship, vocational training, paper publication can power our SOP. 2: Make good relationships with professors, work under them. This will help in getting nice letter of recommendations. VISA: BE CONFIDENT, WE DESERVE IT! I hope this would help you all. When I was planning for my higher studies in US, I could count on my fingers those people who left for US in past years. People did not want to opt for higher studies in US and even if they did, they were hesitated to take any steps. The main reasons were absence of knowledge, confidence and proper guidance. During these couple of years The United States has welcomed many from Raipur. I appreciate the efforts of Meridian for the same and congratulate them on his success to bring the change needed.
